The word has deeper significance for when this piece was created during my artist residency in Akureyri in September. The ending of an era. New growth. Looking out at sea for wisdom.
The house that's screen printed here was one that I had seen in the distance, on a hill in the North. After asking a farmer for permission to photograph it closer, I developed the photo as a screen print. The sea was also photographed in the North, and the plants were harvested right outside of Akureyri.
Both a message of hope and mourning - the tenuous balance of life.
This piece is on canvas with acrylic and screen print, and measures 47cm tall by 105cm wide. It will arrive to you shipped in a roll, unframed.
